Our Favorite Houston Outdoor Locations for your next family photoshoot
Houston Arboretum
First on our list for Houston outdoor locations is the Houston Arboretum. This location is perfect for those seeking a beautiful park environment. The Arboretum features beautifully paved trails, boardwalks, and various plant life. It’s very lush and green during the Spring and Summer months and there is always something new to discover!
Eastern Glades at Memorial Park
This is a brand new beautifully landscaped urban park featuring gorgeous pine tree lined trials and boardwalks, a stunning lake, grasslands, and wildflowers. Requires a photo permit.
19th Street Shopping District
If you’re seeking a more eclectic, kitschy, or classic-feeling downtown vibe, this location showcases some fun mural walls and is particularly great for seniors and couples.
Downtown Houston
Looking for that metropolitan, cityscape vibe? There are a lot of great places to explore right in downtown Houston. Seniors love graffiti park! Parking can be tricky however, so this locale may be better united for seniors, couples, and those seeking business branding shoots, vs. larger groups.
Buffalo Bayou Park/Eleanor Tinsley Park
Choose from a dramatic skyline view of downtown, a modern vibe around the park’s sculptures, or the natural backdrop of the banks of the bayou. This park is full of varied backdrops! While the parking is decent, it’s worth noting that there can be a lot of walking and climbing stairs at this location.
Centennial Gardens at Hermann Park
Considered one of the more desirable spots for photo sessions, this location offers a wide variety of backdrops that are conveniently close to one another. From the jagged stone steps to the pavilion, the fountains, and gardens, you’ll have a variety to choose from. Parking can sometimes be tricky if the weather is nice; requires a photo permit.
Houston Botanic Garden
And finally, we’re excited for this newly opened park on the south side of town, near Hobby Airport. The gardens and landscape are still being developed but they should be amazing by Spring 2021. They only allow photo sessions Monday – Friday between 9:00AM – 5:00PM and they do require a photo permit.
